February Half Term Fun

Looking for some cheap or free activities in and around Swansea for half term? Look no further! I've compiled them all in a handy list! I'm keeping everything crossed for good weather as Margam's program of events looks fantastic this half term. There are some wet weather library and museum options though!

Swansea Central Library: 'Here Come the Aliens', story time and craft 1.30 - 2.30 pm. Suitable for ages 5 - 8.

Friday 28th February

Margam Park: Super Soapy Soap Socks (!), a felt making workshop to make a super soap sock (whatever that is!). 10.30, 12, 1.30, 3.30. £2 per child.

Swansea Central Library: Family Film (no information about which film it is yet) at 1.30pm

On top of all this there's free swimming at all the local leisure centres and play sessions at various places in Swansea (look on swansea.gov.uk for more info). The Odeon and The Vue are also running their Kids Club films in the mornings which are pretty good value.

Happy Holidays!

The Winter Olympics have come to Clydach!

So this week we've been inspired by the start of the Winter Olympics in Sochi. We've used the Olympics as the theme for our artwork and for some other activities too.

Painting circles, I showed them the Olympic logo and one of the boys made a pretty good attempt at copying it!

We also made the logo out of paper plates and coloured tissue paper:

The after school children enjoyed making toboggans out of lego and racing them down the courses I made:

By far the most popular activity was the little ice rink I made, they just didn't want to make their toy figures race though, they wanted to get onto the ice themselves!
